ACN is a certified developmental disabilities service provider under contract with the State of Nebraska Health & Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities. Nearly one hundred and thirty individuals receive services from ACN, ranging in age from seven to 60. Although ACN specializes in autism, we serve persons with a variety of developmental disabilities. Individualized services and supports are designed to lead to a higher level of independence for each individual receiving services, addressing the individual’s desires for his/her future. ACN provides a variety of residential, vocational, pre-vocational and educational services. We have an opportunity for a summer internship as well as an internship during the school term.  This is our first time offering an internship in our accounting department and are willing to work with Burke to tailor the position to accommodate the school’s requirements and student’s needs.  The internship will offer flexible hours between Monday through Friday for 10-20 hours a week in a business casual office.  Our office is located at 9012 Q Street, Omaha, NE 68127 and is close to the L Street and 84th Street interstate exits.
 
The position will offer hands on experience using QuickBooks accounting software, extensive use of excel for financial analysis and real world application of accounting and bookkeeping practices.
 
Preferred Skills:
·         Knowledge of basic accounting, bookkeeping or finance
·         Firm foundation in mathematics
·         Proficient knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel software
·         Ability to multi-task
 
Duties may include:
·         Accounts Payable Entry
·         Accounts Receivable Entry and Reconciliation
·         Reconciliation of financial accounts
·         Data entry for financial trends and budget
·         Calculation and application of expense allocations to multiple divisions
 
At this time the internship will be unpaid, but I can guarantee the experience will make up for it.
