Do you have a passion for teaching and a strong academic record? Apply for the Fall 2026 cohort of the University of Nebraska Omaha Teacher Scholars Academy.
Scholars receive a $5,000 scholarship each semester for four years.
The Teacher Scholars Academy (TSA) is a select group of high-achieving teacher candidates who show leadership and community commitment.
Successful candidates must:
• Be an incoming freshman at UNO.
• Be enrolled in a UNO teacher prep program for the 2026-27 year.
• Have demonstrated academic excellence.
• Show a commitment to community through volunteer service and extracurricular activities.
Selection process timeline:
- November: The application opens for the 2026-27 freshman cohort.
- Jan. 15, 2026: Priority application review begins. Apply early!
- March 1, 2026: The application closes at midnight. Late submissions are not accepted. The top applicants will be invited to Interview Day.
- March 28, 2026: Interview Day at UNO Roskens Hall.
- April 3, 2026: Scholarship offers sent out.
Acceptance to the UNO TSA scholarship program requires a commitment to teaching in the state of Nebraska upon exiting the TSA program, at a minimum, equal to the number of years in the TSA scholarship program.
